MikroTik Configuration

Before you begin, please make sure that:
  • You have a working internet connection
  • PPTP Supported Router.
  • A Premium PureVPN account (if you haven’t bought it yet, click here to buy)
There are 2 menthods:
Method 1:
Please find the easiest way to configure Mikrotik router via PPTP protocol with NATTING . We have also attached the image for configuration .
1 Click on PPP , a new box will appear and then click on + sign with the down arrow key. Once you click, drop down list will be appear. Choose the PPTP client.
1
2 In new window click on general tab and name your VPN as PureVPN and Set Max MTU and Max MRU to 1450
2

3 Now click on Dial-out, enter PureVPN server address / hostname and, enter PureVPN username and Password , Click Apply and OK. Click here to get the server list.
3

4 After that we need here to add some rules to bypass VPN traffic
5 Click on IP -> firewall ->NAT click on red + sign to add a new NAT rule.
6 Set Chain to Srcnat, Out Interface to pptp-out1 or you can setup as PureVPN.
6

7 Set Action to masquerade. Now Again click on IP-> NAT Firewall -> mangle to add a mangle rule
7

8 Now Again click on IP-> NAT Firewall -> mangle to add a mangle rule
8

9 Set chain to prerouting , Dst address to the address of your network which you can check from your local area properties under TCP /IP version 4 like (192.168.0.1 – 192.168.0.254)
9

10 Set Action to mark routing and new routing to your desired name (You can set as PureVPN too)
11 Now Click on IP > Routes Click on Red + Sign to add a new rule.
12 Set Gateway to PPTP1
13 Routing mark to VPN
14 Click Apply and then OK
15 You are done and Surf internet via VPN tunnel .
———————————————————————————————————————————————————–
Method 2:
Please follow the given steps. When creating a PPTP VPN connection, make sure to enter the following data in the fields:
Name: PureVPN
Connect To: One of our server IPs from the list at “PPTP servers” in the VPN control panel. Click here to get the server list
Max MTU + Max MRU: Set to 1400
User: Your VPN account username
Password: Your VPN Password
Check “Dial On Demand” to ensure that the connection is being dialed when needed but disconnected.
Check “Add Default Route” to ensure correct traffic routing.
Allow: Leave all authentication methods checked, as it should be by default already.
Leave the “Enabled” checkbox unchecked, we still have to do some things.
Click on “OK”.
Now please go to “IP” tab and select “Firewall” and “NAT”.
In “Chain”, select “srcnat”, and check the “Enabled” checkbox.
In “Out. Interface”, select the name of the PPTP VPN connection you just created and check its checkbox.
In “Action”, select “Masquerade”.
Click “OK”.
Go the “Mangle” tab, select “Add new”.
In “Chain”, select “prerouting”.
In “Src. Adress”, enter the server address you want to have routed through the VPN connection. To route all IPs in the Mikrotik routers subnet (assuming the router is 192.168.88.1), enter “192.168.88.2-192.168.88.254”. Check the checkbox next to this field.
In “Action”, select “mark routing”.
In “New Routing Mark”, here enter any name for the routing mark, e.g. “PPTP RM”
Click “OK”.
Go to “IP” and then to “Routes” and “Add New”.
Dst. Address: has to be “0.0.0.0/0”.
Gateway: Open your login details email , you can find SERVER LIST – PPTP / L2TP – SSTP . Click on PPTP / L2TP to get the complete list of VPN Servers
Routing Mark: select the routing mark you created before. (e.g. “PPTP RM”)
Click “OK”.
Go to “IP” and then to “DNS”.
Select “Static” and now “Settings”
Check “Enabled”
In the “Servers” fields, enter OpenDNS servers,”208.67.222.222″ into one field, and “208.67.220.220” into another.
Check “Allow Remote Requests”.
Click “OK”.
Now it depends: if you’ve set your gateway router to set the IPs for its connected devices automatically via DHCP, you need to change the DHCP-client settings of the Mikrotik router – otherwise it will override the DNS settings you’ve just set.
If you have set all IPs in your network manually, you can skip this step ->
Go to “IP” and “DHCP Client”.
Doubleclick your dhcp entry and then uncheck “Use Peer DNS”.
Now click “OK.”
That’s all, now we’re going to test the PPTP connection.
Go back to “PPP” and doubleclick your PPTP connection.
Check the “Enabled” checkbox and click on “Apply”.
Above at “Status:” you’ll see the connection status, which should be -> Dialing, Authenticating, Connected
I’ve tried following these instructions i believe the problem is here;
Now please go to “IP” tab and select “Firewall” and “NAT”.
In “Chain”, select “srcnat”, and check the “Enabled” checkbox.
In “Out. Interface”, select the name of the PPTP VPN connection you just created and check its checkbox.
In “Action”, select “Masquerade”.
Click “OK”.
Thanks
